Dear precious family and friends,
Donnie and I wanted to start this blog, so you can be updated more easily on his progress. As you know, he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer stage IV, with metastases to his mesentery and omentum (intestines). We are awaiting biopsy results today, and a visit from his oncologist to discuss possible treatment modalities. His pain is significant, so he is being managed with oral medications, and hopefully will be able to go home within the next few days. I will post on the blog when we find out new information.
Donnie and I want to thank our precious family and friends for the outpouring of love and caring we have received. It is so uplifting to feel the love from our family and friends. As you all know, this is very important to Donnie. Feel free to share pictures, uplifting memories, encouragement and prayers on this site. We will attempt to check the site daily.

A prayer for you my dear friend…Lord please give my treasured friends Donnie. Love and blessing without ends. Give him contentment in his Life; Comfort him in time of strife, always keep him safe, secure…Let his path to you be has open and clear for him to see….Lord, I asked and always have asked, that he be has close to you, eternally… It’s great!…to know you have heard Lord, all our prayers…God Love U…and we do too!
Donnie, you are in my thoughts and prayers. God is on the throne ! May he bless you and help you and your family thru this difficult time. An old memory from the past, it always makes me laugh..I hope it does you too. Years ago when we were juniors in high school, remember I drove the old primered up van and you had the chevy. I don’t even remember how or why we started this. But when we were driving on Seffner-Valrico road…and only when there were no other cars anywhere around, we would swap sides of the road and pass on the wrong side. I know we were a bit crazy ! Well one day my step-father was riding with me. I was praying that you would not change lanes. BUT, there were no other cars on the road so it’s on. I very casually changed lanes, we passed and gave each other a wave. Then we both switched back to our appropriate lanes. It took my step-father a moment to recover from the shock and horror of what he thought was going to happen to all of us. Finally he asked, What in the world just happened back there ? It took a while for him (and me) to recover from the shock. Both for different reasons of course. After a change of his underwear he was fine. I love you Donnie Mac. I am praying

You have always had this gentle soul about you (that I adore), your faith in God and such compassion and love for others, it shows on your face, you always have a smile. Looks like your time settings are off. The comment I just posted says it’s 5:29 PM, and it’s really 12:29. Maybe I’m picky, but I’d really like to know what time things are happening or happened. Donnie will understand – he’s pickier than I am! 😉 If you can get me the admin username & password, I’d be happy to help fix some of this stuff myself. I design all my websites in WordPress, so I kinda know my way around 🙂
Tina: instead of posting your updates as comments under the original post, could you create a new post for each update? It will be easier for us to know when you’ve posted something new, and your updates won’t get lost in the slew of replies to the posts.

We are continuing to pray for Donnie and Tina and family. It’s been a blessing these many past years to know these fine folks. I (Sidney) have many fond memories of getting to sing with Donnie in the choir’s tenor section during past years. Though these past years the Lord has put us in different churches to serve Him, I know that in the future for all of eternity we’ll get to have times to sing together. . . singing praises to the One who takes away all sin, all sickness, all heart ache and is the Victor over death itself to give us eternal life.

To start, I just want to say that y’all are in our thoughts and prayers. And if you need anything at all, it would be an honor to help any way we can. Mow the yard, trim trees, cut firewood, cookin’, cleanin’, anything at all. We are more than glad to help any way we can.
Secondly, a lot of things sound impossible when you just say it. Creating the heavens and earth in 6 days! Walkin’ on water, healing the blind, turning water to wine (one of my personal favorites), and raising from the dead. But we all know how those things turned out. So keep the faith Dose, we’re with ya in this. We love you guys, and we’ll see ya soon.
Today Donnie had some difficulty with his pain management. His wonderful oncologist came in and adjusted his meds, and he was MUCH better from 3pm forward. The biopsy results should be back tomorrow. If they are, we will discuss what the plan of action will be. Please pray for wisdom and peace for Donnie as he makes decisions. Thanks again to all our AMAZING friends and family that call and visit, and shower us with love. God bless you!!!
