Here’s some Christmas cheer for all of us!! Ronnie Mac asked me to post this pic on the blog. The whole family gets a kick out of this picture. The best part is, NO ONE, can tell which one is which FOR SURE.
Lorraine (big sis who can always tell them apart …. except this time), Momma (who can’t tell them apart here either) Darlene (Ronnie’s wife who can tell them apart MOST of the time), Tina (who can tell them apart a significant part of the time), and of course Donnie or Ronnie are not sure either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be sure to note the jeans rolled up to the knees. Ronnie told me that was so when they grew, the jeans would still fit…hmmmm
Personally, I think identical twins are simply amazing! These two are best buds FOREVER. With all of our heads together, our best GUESS is that Donnie is on the left, and Ronnie is on the right.
MERRY CHRISTMAS from our family to yours!!!!!!

This picture represents Twin Problem #32…WHEN YOU FIND A PICTURE FROM WHEN YOU ARE YOUNGER AND CAN’T TELL WHO IT IS.
This is a special picture to me. It represents so much of my wonderful memories of you. There are many times, not only in photos, but in our memories, where we remember the same event, but can’t tell who was who in the roles. I believe that’s because we are literally one. Our thoughts, actions, mannerisms, values, faith, loyalties, smells (yes, even those smells), quirks, aggravations, work ethic, biases, voices, looks, and DNA are all identical. Bigger than all of that is the GREAT LOVE we share for each other. I love you so much Dose. I believe we are the same soul walking around on four legs. Steven Wright said, ”If I ever had twins I would use one for parts”. I wish I could give you some of my parts right now and everything would be all better.
Some Twin things I have heard over the years:
– Twins – God’s way of offering Buy One Get one Free
– Twins – Double the mess in half the time (my favorite)
– Twins are TWO much
– Not double trouble, but twice blessed
– Twice as much to love, Two blessings from above
– Twins are individuals too – Twindividuals
We loved baseball and played when we were young. I was an okay pitcher and you were an awesome catcher. We also loved playing “cowboys”. In this photo each of us was playing one of our heroes. We were either, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, The Lone Ranger, or one of the Cartwright’s. Who knew Dose would grow up and be “Pa” (what his grandkids call him. They adore him). And I am starting to look like Hoss. Where can I buy that Big White hat? These heroes all have something in common. They are “The Good Guys”. That is what you are…One of the Good Guys, the best. You are truly MY HERO.
As the Dynamic Duo, we ran around protecting the world from the Bad Guys. I must say, “I think we did a pretty good job of it”. Especially with the Santa issued fake guns. Later, as we grew up we joined the ARMY. We were separated for the first time ever. (Yes, it was tough). But, as Military Policemen, you in Texas, me in Germany, we still protected the world from bad guys with our real government issued 1911 Colt .45’s and M16s. We were both expert marksmen with the .45 pistol and M16 Rifle. Later our models became John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Don’t ever ever mess with the Macs! Huuuah!
As years went on, as an ICU nurse, you became an even greater protector of the people. You now selflessly help those who can’t help themselves. Thanks brother. I admire you and I am very proud of you, a Godly man who sought God’s calling. Dose, you may be my “twin” brother, but you are truly “one” of a kind”.
I pray God’s strength for you. The strength he gave David to fight Goliath. I pray you persevere in the fight, the perseverance God gave Job. I pray for your healing and that the Holy Spirit to relieve your suffering.
People ask, ”What does it feel like to have a twin?” I ask “what does it feel like not to have a twin?”
Dose, I love you!

To those of you who asked “Did you ever switch places?” Yes, yes we did. You just never knew it when it happened to you…don’t hate.
I think Donnie is on the right. It’s that big smile that makes me think it is Donnie.

Beautiful testament to the relationship ya’ll have.
You put this reader slap dab in the middle of your heart felt feelings. God bless you both. Dennis
It certainly brings a smile to my face! I love that picture! Merry Christmas! 🙂
Merry Christmas! Praying Donnie has a restful night and is feeling much better today! Love to you all!
Love u both. just finished at ccc for our Christmas Eve service…funny you most when we pray for people that we love..God bless hope to see you soon Merry Christmas guys..love you.
What a great tribute to your brother. Every word is true. I always called to guys “interchangeable friends”. Not because you’re twins and look like each other but because you are so much alike. When Donnie lived near me in Seffner we saw each other often. Then he moved away and Ronnie moved closer and, for me, it was like I picked up where I left off. Very cool. Love you guys. Merry Christmas.
Ha! Best blog comment ever!!! Thanks for sharing Ronnie!
what a wonderful tribute to Donnie and your life. Very Special!
Love this picture!
I can tell who is who. One is my dad and one is my uncle. Not really sure why the rest of you are having such a hard time. LOL!

This is absolutely beautiful! You have captured my heart. Although I suspected these things in growing up with twins, you have shared beautifully!
Love, Love!
I tried to
Now that I can see the picture….by zooming in…Donnie is for sure on the left! Amazing what Zoom will do! Be sure to write it on the back. In a couple of years zoom may not help….lol.
Great picture of my little brothers. Needless to say, they were a mess then and still a mess today 🙂
Love my brothers….twins are amazing…especially my brothers!!!
