So by now, you know why I haven’t posted anything in a while . . . because my man is doing better.  No nausea for a week is a praise in itself!  We are so grateful to God, so grateful for prayers, and so grateful for doctors and nurses that care for him (and for care for US!).

We have had so many wonderful meals, desserts, snacks, and cards . . . We have had so many wonderful friends call, visit and encourage us . . . We have a huge family that loves on us in all kinds of ways . . .                    It is all humbling and appreciated!  We feel so loved we could cry!

Lynn and Mitch came to visit, and brought us some yummy homemade oatmeal cookies, all while Lynn’s Mom is having some emergency surgery today.  What would we do without all the selfless acts of kindness from our friends and family!

Brian (my brother from California) and his wife Lauri

came to stay with us for 5 days to help with anything we needed.  Brian helped me with all kinds of computer “tweaking” and “jobs” I needed to get accomplished, and Lauri helped with cooking, cleaning up, and anything else I asked her to do.  They even shopped for us (including jeans for Donnie who is now 34 in the waist).  They helped me do a days worth of yard work in 2 hours (good helpers!!), and that yard work saved me a 2 hour session with a therapist (if you get what I mean).

Today Jeff (Donnie’s son) and Flora were able to spend a day with us without the kids.  That was nice!  Donnie got some good singing time in with Jeff, and then Flora was able to record an interview asking Donnie about his life.  Their time with Donnie was very special to him (and them).

We thank you all for every kindness you have bestowed on us!!!!  Donnie will be getting chemo on Friday.  Please pray for minimal to NO side effects.  I am truly excited that I get to spend tomorrow, an entire Thursday, with my husband by myself . . . something we have both longed for.
