December 29th: Still in the ICU at Florida Hospital East Orlando

So…here we are…in Donnie’s ICU at East Orlando.  I must say there is nothing more comforting to know that the entire ICU loves Donnie, and is so protective of him.  Awesome intensivist (ICU doctor), awesome nurses, awesome respiratory therapists, awesome chaplains, and I could go on.  They treat us like gold!!!  It is so comforting to know that they all “have his back”.

He is in ICU because that is where the docs and nurses wanted him…to take wonderful care of him and be supportive of him.  He is getting IV fluids, and they have been “tweaking” his medications to help with all of his chemo side effects.  He has had better nausea and pain relief today than he has had in the last 2-3 weeks.  PRAISE BE TO THE LORD!!!!  So thankful to caregivers that are looking for alternatives to help him!!!  Especially Dr. Siddiqui 🙂

The last 2 days have been very, very difficult for Donnie.  Today is a “HAIR” better.  He actually sat up and ate 4 bites of a chicken wrap, and 4 spoonfuls of chicken and wild rice soup that Rachael (daughter) brought to him.  Jeff (son) stayed with him last night, so he is taking credit for his Daddy’s turn around!!  He is staying with him again tonight, so I am expecting another improvement tomorrow!!!!!!  It takes a village . . .

So thankful Tina to read this post this morning!  Thank you dear Lord!  Will continue to pray.  So thankful Donnie is receiving such excellent care!  Blessings to count!  Thankful for the opportunity to hug your necks on Sunday!  For now sending much love from SC.

Thank You Jesus for some positive turn around!! A BIG ‘Thank You’ to the Doctor, the Nurses, the ICU staff that has made it all possible being there for my brother. I’m sure he feels at home and I know he is surely loved by all of them. Yes, and a BIG Kudo to Jeff! I know he brought his daddy comfort.

Tina, this is wonderful news. So glad to hear he is eating and drinking AND without the side effects. Yes Praise Be to The Lord!

We are praying for continued improvement. We are on the verge of a miracle! …an awesome testimony!

Donnie, I love you brother….keep hanging in there!

Love you both!

Donnie,

I was very sad to hear this news.  As I am going through a similar situation in my own family, I understand what you and your family are dealing with.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.  I would have loved to stop in and see you when I was working this weekend, but didn’t want to bring you any ER germs.

Yay, he ate something! I’m sure his work family are keeping their eyes on him. Hopefully, tomorrow will be an even better day with the tweaks to his meds. Love & hugs!

So very glad to hear Donnie is getting such great care! Tina as always I am so grateful for the daily updates! Wish I could give you both tight hugs but a thought hug will have to do! The Coleman’s love to you!

So glad he’s on his home turf. Sounds like they are doing a fantastic job which I know gives you a lot of peace of mind. Hopefully he will continue to improve. Our prayers are always with you both! Love you
