Cell counts looking good

Donnie had blood work drawn at the oncology clinic yesterday, to be sure his immune system is back in working order.  His white cell count had dropped to 1.7 last week, and this week it is 6.9, which is awesome.  No  more quarantine for him!  Also his platelets were 27, and now they are 282.  His bone marrow is still kickin’, replenishing all his cells the chemo destroys!!  He continues to wean his anti-nausea medications with success.  Slow and easy is the way to go.  He has currently decreased his anti-nausea medications by 75% from the initial doses required to give him relief.  He still has withdrawal symptoms from morphine, so pray those symptoms would subside.

We will see Dr. Z next week to hear what he has to say about Donnie’s CT results, and what our next plan of action will be.  In the meantime, we await patiently.

I must say, I am thrilled that my orchids have decided to bloom this year . . . I have been waiting for several years for them to bloom, and this year, they decided to give us joy!!  More blooms are threatening to bloom as well 🙂  God’s creations are so beautiful!!

Please pray for Donnie to successfully wean medications slowly, and that side effects of weaning will subside soon.  Also pray for his continued improvement in stamina.  We continue to walk each evening, and he has actually started liking it 🙂  As always, he has a positive and realistic outlook on his circumstances.  He’s never been much of a complainer, and definitely a realist, taking what is thrown at him in stride.

Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement that are making a difference in Donnie’s improvement and in our lives.

Love,  Donnie & Tina

It is so good to see you guys walking the neighborhood!!! Both John and I were blow away to see Donnie riding his bike!!! Awesome!!!  God is great!  Xoxoxo

So amazed at the turnaround in Donnie’s labwork. God is truly intervening You are both an inspiration to us and I am sure so many others. Our best to you both and we continue to pray for improvement.

Great news. We are still praying for all of you.

I have tried to post a couple of times and it just would not let me.

Thank you for keeping this blog and sharing it consistently with us. You have both been an inspiration to me of how to “do” Christianity. You are both talking the talk and walking the walk through a very difficult time. They say that it takes times like these for Christians to really grow and cling as we always should to Christ. If me or my immediate family ever had to go through a battle like this, I pray I would do it as well as you two have…giving God the glory and showing that He is good every step of the way as well as counting plus sharing little blessings in your lives every day. Praise the Lord for His mercies are new every morning! Your lives cause me to rejoice in Him. Thanks again for sharing your journey. May God be glorified! See you Sunday!

I swear its amazing…. I am so amazed . Its like miracle after miracle. God has a plan on earth for him….

That is great news. I will continue to pray for you and I hope you continue to get better. I love you.
