Continued improvement

Donnie has had no nausea since October 28th, almost a week.  He is weaning his nausea medications which is a HUGE praise.  So far, it is going well.  Donnie continues to get his TPN every day, which helps his nutrition and strength.

imageMonday was so wonderful.  We drove to Cocoa Beach (our kids grew up there in the waves), ate lunch, and “hung out” in the shade of the pier.  Then we came home, went to Rachael’s home, and enjoyed Brianna’s 7th birthday.  It was truly a wonderful day for both of us!! He was tired when it was over, but it was a very GOOD tired 🙂

imageTODAY, he woke up and said, “Wanna go to IHOP for breakfast?”  Oh my.  This is a whole new level of “better.”  So off we went.  He had eggs, some sausage, and pancakes, which he said were his favorite.  We got to visit with some of our favorite people there, which is always uplifting!  It’s just good to get back to the small things you enjoy doing.  Donnie has ALWAYS loved eating breakfast out.

Today we go to see Dr. Z.  We will find out what Donnie’s tumor markers are (they were drawn a week ago), and then formulate a new plan for his chemo administration.  I’ve been praying his markers are very, very low, as that would mean he would get to take less chemo, which would give him less side effects.  We will find out soon.

Thank you for your precious prayers and encouragement.  We don’t know what all this improvement means, but each day is a true gift, so we are trying to take advantage of the opportunities to find joy!!  On the way to the beach yesterday, Donnie was singing in the car.  So wonderful to see him feel good and have energy.  PRAISE TO GOD that He has given us this time to enjoy Donnie!!  If this keeps up, we will be going to St. Augustine soon to see Kaia and Liam.  Grandbabies are such good medicine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love,  Donnie & Tina
