. . . to 25 more wonderful years!

Our 25th anniversary was Tuesday, October 27th. Donnie and I had a sweet morning with breakfast: Scrambled egg sandwiches, grits, and a toast to us!! (cranberry and orange juice . . . delicious!!),

image. . . and delicious and beautiful fruit from our Maegan Dose 🙂

At 12:30, we left to go to Dr. Z’s office for chemo. It really made him nauseated again. It was very hard, as he has been battling nausea for 2 months, with a few hospitalizations to get it under control.  I was in tears.  He was discouraged.

So we called in the cavalry . . . Joyce McFarland!! She came the next morning, and stayed with us to help us in any way she could.  There’s just nothing like having “Momma” around when you feel crummy.  That goes for BOTH of us.  We tweaked a few medications, and got his nausea under control again without another trip to Winter Park Hospital.  Many, many thanks for your prayers, and for prayers answered, Abba Father!!

Donnie continues to feel slightly better.  He does not take naps throughout the day, so his strength is improving.  He sleeps well at night.  He does not have any nausea.  His appetite is improving slightly.  Food is STARTING to have a taste at all (chemo effects his taste tremendously).  He continues to get his TPN every day, which adds significantly to his nutrition.  He is considering starting to walk outside again, even if it is just to the mailbox and back.

He is up to having some visitors, but in very small doses, like 15 minutes or so. His voice is very, very dry, due to morphine and huge doses of benedryl, so it takes a lot of energy for him to talk loud enough to be heard.

Thank you for the BUCKETS of cards, texts, FaceBook posts, phone calls, visits, gift cards, and HUGS & KISSES for our 25th anniversary celebration.  I had threatened Donnie that I was going to put a bow on his head, wrap both of us in saran wrap, and post the picture that HE IS MY GIFT FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY!!!  That is the honest truth!!!!!!!!!!  He, and the kids, are grateful I did not follow through with the photo op!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Hey, my comment was, “Be glad we still love each other like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Of course, I am so grateful that God has given us this opportunity to be together on this very special day.  WHAT A BLESSING!!!!

Love,  Donnie & Tina

You are truly one of our favorite couples of all time! We are all happy to hear that Donnie is getting better and the nausea is more under control. We will continue to pray for you both.
And I saw that you guys went to IHOP today! I'm sad I missed seeing you but I'm sure that it made everyone's day to see you walk in those doors. Lots of love and prayers to you guys always.
