The xray of the abdomen yesterday showed no surgical problems, just a surgical ileus (intestines don’t want to work after surgery). His intestines are working some, but they would like for them to work better before going home . . . so they will be giving him some more inspiration today. He is still not eating. Thanks for your prayers.
Brianna made Pa a picture yesterday, and wrote a message for him around the edges: “I am sallre (sorry) that you are sick. I epoh (hope spelled backwards as she wrote around the page) you feel better soon. I love you!” She helped him walk around the unit to make him better. So sweet!!

Of course, Donnie has had great care from his 12-hour night shift caregiver: Beau!
Per Dr. de la Fuente this morning at 7:15 am on a Saturday (such a dedicated doc), Donnie MAY be able to go home tomorrow. We will have to see how he progresses today. We are not in a hurry. Donnie needs to be looking good before we get discharged, and eating food (just sayin’). No returning to the hospital for us!!
We have had some amazing sunsets on the 14th floor of the Ginsburg Tower. Donnie and I have always missed the sunsets on the west coast of Florida, after we moved to Orlando. I must say, when you are high in the air, sunsets aren’t so bad in Orlando 🙂 This sunset was laced with huge bolts of lightening. The phone camera cannot do it justice!! It was gorgeous!! The awesomeness of God.
“Uncle Donkey” got letters from Gracie and Laura Mae, 2 of our great nieces in Memphis. They are so sweet to Donnie . . . their letters make his day!! Their encouragement is awesome!!
Written on the back of the envelope!!
Donnie is recovering well. This was a big surgery, and it will take him 6 months to completely heal. Thank you for your prayers, kind words, and WOOHOO’s!
Love, Donnie & Tina
