More good days

Donnie felt ok after chemo yesterday.  This is a first since September 1.  He usually feels crummy, needs more nausea medications, and sleeps until the next day.  Yesterday was different and improved.  He felt ok after chemo, and had no nausea.  He did not have to take any extra medications.  He talked, which takes a lot of energy, and ate a good dinner.  He did take a one hour nap, as he gets sleepy due to the IV Benadryl he gets before chemo.  Then he was up again, watching the debates and The Voice.  He was up until 11 pm.  That’s a big wonderful change.

Today he got up at 9 am.  He usually is not up before 10 am.  Another positive sign.  He has been up, discussing the debates, and now visiting with his Mom who just arrived.  We are soon to eat lunch:  Pork chops, corn, black-eyed peas, mustard greens and cornbread.  We invited my 89 year old Dad to come today, ’cause Donnie feels good enough to have company.

imageThanks so much for all your prayers!  God continues to leave me amazed and grateful!!  I must say we are pretty happy over here, especially with McFarland Christmas coming up this Saturday.  We have all been praying that Donnie would be able to enjoy the day with the family.  Looks like that will come to fruition!  He continues to have a good attitude, and FIGHT LIKE A MAC!!  Maybe one day they will write a book about him . . . He’s really unexplainable.

God’s blessing to you and your families during this season of love!!  The biggest love story of all is that Jesus came to this earth to proclaim his love for all mankind.  Even for me.   Even for you.

Love,  Donnie & Tina
