Donnie started his second round of chemo on Tuesday this week.  If you remember back to January this year when he started his chemo, he had much the same reaction to it he is having now, only he weighed 200 pounds then.  He is having big waves of nausea, and is fighting nausea almost all day and night.  At least he is not throwing up this time.  We’ve learned a lot in this journey on how to help control that.  He is eating about a cup of food 3 to 4 times a day, and that is just because he knows he NEEDS to, not because he WANTS to.  He is down to 151 pounds.

We are grateful he is still at home (not in the hospital), and I am still able to give him IV hydration through his port at home.  It is really great that he can be in the comfort of his own home, and get home cooked food when ever the urge strikes him.

He is pretty weak right now, so no visitors please.  You can text him, FaceBook him, and send him cards.  Donnie’s Mom is so gracious to come and spend time with us to help us both.  She is our angel here on earth!  Of course all 4 of our sweet children help us every chance they get.  LOVE!!

Please pray for Donnie’s nausea to get under control.  We just need to get through this difficult valley of the second round of chemo, and then we will have a better idea of how he will progress.  Once he got past this point last time, he progressed each day for the next 4 months until he was approved for surgery.  We are praying this will be the case again.

I am really without words as to how emotionally and physically drained we both are.  We continue to trust in the Lord with all our hearts.  He is our only strength, comfort, and refuge.
