It is still a rough week for Donnie. He is in the bed all of the time. He still gets waves of nausea that come over him at random, and they really rock his world. Although this is a challenging time, here are some of the good things going on:
- Tuesday (yesterday) he decided he wanted to wean his morphine ER from 60 mg twice a day to 45 mg twice a day. So far that is working.
- His pain is about a 3 on a scale of 10, which he states is tolerable.
- He continues to TRY to eat some home cooked food 2-3 times a day.
- Even though he is eating much less than normal for him, his weight was 156 pounds yesterday, which is no weight loss for the week. Yay!
- He continues to get IV fluids for hydration every day in the comfort of his own bed.
- He continues to be the exemplary patient. He does what he knows he needs to do, even when he doesn’t feel like it.
Donnie continues to thank all of the people that help him, and maintains his wonderful and kind attitude. He doesn’t get exasperated and whine, he just continues to be pleasant and thankful. I am very, very grateful for his positive attitude after all the challenges he has faced over the past 9 months. I am very, very grateful that he tries his best to live his life as a Christian, walking the talk. It’s times like these that you find out who someone really is inside.
Thank you for your prayers. Please pray for NO NAUSEA, for improvement in eating, and improvement in strength. To God be all the glory and honor~
Love, Donnie & Tina
