Sunday, January 25

Donnie continues to improve in small but positive ways.  He has gained a few pounds (thank goodness), he is eating a little better, his nausea remains under control, and his pain level is a 1 or 2 on a scale of 10.  He still needs to rest during the day, and gets tired out if he has been up talking for a couple of hours.

Today, Mack, our pastor, and his beautiful tribe (beautiful wife Jenn and 5 precious children) came to see Donnie after church.  Mack had promised Donnie a cap like his, and delivered on the promise.  All of us (Ronnie, Darlene and myself) really like it on him.  You be the judge . . .

The rest of the day was spent hanging out with Ronnie and Darlene.  It was a quiet day, looking through pictures and enjoying each other’s company.  Ronnie and Dar really wanted to take us out to dinner (for our birthdays), and Donnie thought he might actually be able to do that.  So, we drove to Red Lobster in Waterford Lakes, and had a very nice meal together.  He was pretty tired out after that, and so we came home and Donnie laid down to rest.  We are all thankful that he is able to enjoy small events that bring up his spirits (which brings up all of our spirits!!).

So nice getting out of the house for him!
