Weaning nausea medications: good and not so good

As you know, we cut Donnie’s nausea medications in half.  That went very well for about 4 days.  At that point, Dr. Z felt like Donnie might be able to come off of them entirely . . . and that did not go very well.  Donnie got nauseated after 28 hours, so he took his medications for nausea at that time.  It took approximately 3 days for him to get “regulated,” and on an “even keel.”  During that time, he ate very little and slept a lot.  He was disappointed in his body’s response.  It is still a good thing in the long haul, as he continues to be on half the medication he was on when we started this journey.  Less medications is easier on his kidneys and liver, which filter all these medications, and that is important, since his chemo is very hard on these organs.

Please continue to pray for no pain or nausea for him.  He has really done well in those areas, surely due to all our prayer warriors interceding for him, and good medicine that works for him.  He receives 2 more chemo treatments (one of them is tomorrow), and then we have the CT scan.  Pray the tumor is shrinking, or better yet, gone.  Of course, we continue to pray for God’s will to be done, and we pray for strength in that journey.

Love,  Donnie & Tina

That’s great news. I’m praying for your continued improvements and for your trip to Memphis.

P.S. I love the Magnum P.I. mustache in the family photo. 😉

Glad to hear that meds have been cut in half just wish he didn’t need them at all. The Lord is with you all during this tough time and will strengthen you. Praying for more good news.

I’m so sorry they could not cut the nausea medication off completely but so glad they cut it in half. God is performing miracles on Donnie and I continue to pray for God’s will to be to COMPLETELY heal him. Amen!!! JESUS can!! love you both!!!  Hang in there Donnie!!!  Fight like a Mac!!!
