We are at the clinic today. Donnie’s blood counts are looking very good, and he weighs 173 pounds, so he is holding onto his weight. He will receive his chemo today, and the next 2 Tuesdays, then will have a CT scan with contrast. This scan will be measuring his primary tumor size (his pancreas). Dr Z’s continued plan of care for Donnie will depend on his CT scan results, as well as how Donnie is looking clinically (physical exam, labs and medications needed), and how he is feeling.
We asked Dr Z, “So what do you think about how he is doing?” He said, “It looks like remission, and the CT scan will tell us more.” That’s the first time we have heard him say remission, so I’m pretty excited about the possibility!!!
Due to Donnie not having any breakthrough pain or nausea, we are going to attempt to wean his nausea meds this week. Please pray that will be accomplished. We will be cutting them all in half. If this happens, it will improve his energy level and improve his very dry mouth. It will also help his liver and kidneys not have to filter these meds, which is always good!
I’m very positive about all this good news. We are ever so grateful for the time God has given us, along with a quality of life that is enjoyable in small doses between big naps. So WONDERFUL to be singing in church to worship God, to play with and enjoy grandbabies, and enjoy family and friends. We are so grateful to God!
Beau always goes to the clinic with us, and he bribes the staff with his wonderful cakes. Today was orange cake…a big hit as you can see!! Donnie gets a piece, too, of course!!

Please continue to pray for successful weaning of his nausea meds, for miraculous shrinking of his pancreatic tumor, and for unspeakable positive results from the CT scan in 3 weeks. We will be giving God all the glory, as usual!! Thank you all for your faithfulness to pray for Donnie and for us!!
Love, Donnie & Tina
