Donnie was very, very tired after chemo 2 weeks ago. We also felt he had a cold at that time. He has gotten over the cold, and his energy level has improved some. There are several praises over the past 2 weeks:
- He can get out to a restaurant 3 or 4 times a week now (which we both enjoy), and eat a good amount of food. We have been taking advantage of the sweet gift cards we received for our 25th wedding anniversary. That is another sweet praise in itself!!
- He can walk with me in the mall 2 times a week, resting on the journey, but HEY! He feels like getting out at all, which is pretty big in my book.
- He needs no medication for pain, and has weaned off all his anti-nausea medications except for 25 mg of Benedryl twice a day. This is great, as he was nauseated for almost 2 1/2 months straight!! Now . . . no nausea . . . ever.
- He seems to enjoy being at home with me, and I with him! We are so grateful that we have both been able to be off from work and travel this journey together during this past year, side by side and hand in hand. What a huge blessing!!
My humble request today is for you all to please pray that chemo does not EXHAUST him for a long period of time, and that the nausea would not return at all. He gets his chemo around 2 pm today, so everyone that can, say a prayer for him then. Of course, prayers ANYTIME are cherished!
As I was thinking about the praises for Donnie this past week, the words of the Doxology just came into my mind. I sang this sweet song standing beside my sweet Momma all my life as a child in church. The words have such great meaning:
Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen. I praise God for giving Donnie to me. I especially praise God for giving Donnie to our four precious children. I praise God for giving Donnie to all of us that love him, for the precious time we have spent with him this past year, and I continue to praise God for Donnie’s future. I pray that all of us could love the Lord enough to be content with our circumstances . . . which is the place where Donnie abides. I personally am very thankful for that blessing!!!
Thank you for your love and prayers, Donnie & Tina

Tina and Donnie,
I love to read your posts. Praying that you can continue the good days. No nausea and no exhaustion. Glad you are able to get out to dinner, walk and enjoy life.
I am so glad you all are fine Christian people who love the Lord and have faith that your destiny is in His control. So many people don't know the Lord and it is so sad.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving together with your family.
You are always in our prayers.
Everyday is a gift from God! I thank Him for all that He has done and is doing through Donnie. Donnie is a Blessing and an example to us all! It is so wonderful to hear that he has been getting out for visits to the restaurants 🙂 and enjoying the activities of walking and sharing with you Tina.
Our prayers go up continuously on Donnie's behalf for continued healing as well as for the family's continued strength and endurance; especially Tina (what a gift and trooper you are!).
Prayers are with Donnie today that the chemo does not zap his energy level; but instead gives him strength, endurance, and determination as more healing takes place. He too has been a real trooper this past year. Keep up the fight Donnie Mac!!
We love you both dearly!
Hugs! Love! ….and Kisses!
