Donnie’s Mom is a Turner. Including her, there are 7 brothers and sisters . . . more wonderful family. Donnie’s first cousin, Kevin, and his wife Becky, had the fam over for a fish fry Saturday night at their home in Apollo Beach on Tampa Bay. He caught the mahi, and cooked it all up for us! There were about 30 of us, and it was delicious food and fellowship, not to mention the view was amazingly relaxing!!
Today, Sunday, the elders at our church anointed Donnie, and the church body prayed over him for healing. It was tearfully special for him and for me. We are so grateful for all the prayers to God on Donnie’s behalf by our family and friends, and even by caring people we do not have personal relationships with. We are overwhelmed beyond what words can express for the love that has been shown to us in so many ways. Thank you for your encouragement, words of hope, and prayers.
Tomorrow morning, Donnie’s surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am at Florida Hospital Orlando. Please pray for no metastatic disease to be present, and that the surgery to remove the tail of his pancreas can be completed. The surgery will be extensive, so pray for the surgeon’s to have excellent judgement and skills during Donnie’s surgery. We are anxious to get answers, and are accepting of God’s will no matter what, that’s for sure. As soon as I can blog, I will inform you of the findings. We are grateful for God’s love for us, and for His grace, which we cannot possibly deserve! To God be all the glory!!

Lord I lift up Donnie today asking that you strengthen and prepare his body for the upcoming surgery. Lord I ask that you prepare each doctor and each assistant so that each one is refreshed and at his or her best when the surgery begins. Enable them to fully focus on Donnie I pray for each one to be clear thinking and able to receive your wisdom as the surgery is in progress. May each decision the correct and each procedure be accurate. Lord, I pray for protection during surgery. I also pray for protection and for provision during recovery. I pray that his recovery is quick and results are successful. You are the Creator and our sustainer. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
May God comfort and support Donnie, Tina and family tomorrow during the surgery. May Donnie’s body please be in optimal condition for the surgeons to successfully complete the surgery. I have to thank God for bringing someone like Donnie into my life to be an amazing example of how God would like us all to treat eachother through this journey in life. From the moment I met Donnie in nursing school he has been such a guiding light. He was there for me during times that I did not even realize I needed him until later in life. Then one night at a nursing school event I met another person equally as amazing as Donnie. I met Tina. Wow, how could it be that there was a person just as amazing and they found eachother in this crazy world. Had to be God! Then their story confirmed it. Going on to be friends with these two was one of the biggest blessings in my life. They were there for me at every life changing event from marrying Tim to the birth of all our children. Tim and I can only hope to be as happy and as in Love with eachother and our family as these two are. Sorry, I got caught up in a moment of reflection. Whatever God’s will delivers to Donnie I will forever be thankful for being a part of his and Tina’s amazing lives for even just a moment. Some people never experience such wonderful examples of God’s Love and guidance during their lifetime. I count myself blessed.

Sure wish we were there to eat some of that good food yesterday!! I know y'all had a wonderful visit with more family!! We will be with you and Donne in spirt tomorrow and the days to come while Donnie is healing from his surgery. I pray that God will have his hand on your shoulder to give you strength and comfort you tomorrow while you wait for the results that the doctors removed the cancer from Donnie's body.
